What is Beta Chi Theta?
Beta Chi Theta National Fraternity, Inc. was founded by eight young men on June 2nd, 1999, at the University of California, Los Angeles. These men came together with a vision to create a social fraternity based in South Asian culture, leadership, cultural consciousness, and most importantly, brotherhood. Since then, Beta Chi Theta has grown to over 30 chapters and colonies nationwide with over 2,000 members. The Greek letters Beta (Β), Chi (Χ), and Theta (Θ) stand for Brotherhood, Culture, and Tradition, the values that define every brother in the organization.
The Alpha Alpha Chapter was established at Northeastern University on December 3rd, 2011. Currently 11 brothers strong, and this semester will be our first full semester back on campus since our hiatus in Spring 2024.
What are the chapter’s purpose and core values?
The Alpha Alpha Chapter is driven by a deep commitment to brotherhood and South Asian heritage. For our brothers, Beta Chi Theta is a place to reconnect with our roots and a space to celebrate and preserve a culture that has thrived for thousands of years. We believe that South Asia's rich history and traditions deserve to be kept alive, and we want to provide a welcoming home on campus for anyone who shares that passion. Above all else, brotherhood is at the heart of everything we do. Our fraternity is guided by six founding pillars (Brotherhood, Tradition, Service to Humanity, South Asian Awareness, Academic Excellence, and a Unified Nationwide Network) and we strive to embody each of them. As we re-establish ourselves at Northeastern, we are focused on leaning into our cultural identity and hope to be known as a chapter that is both culturally proud and welcoming to all.
